Thinking of radio advertising?Tcarter
You definitely should be and right now is the time to be doing it, or not, as the case may be.
The RAJAR figures from the last quarter of 2013 reveal that 48.4 million adults listen to radio every week; the highest number ever recorded!
Commercial radio alone has risen by 1.7 million compared to the same period last year and it’s the local stations that are really making everyone sit up and listen, accounting for over 70% of that increase.
Despite the rise in overall number of listeners, total listening hours for any station can fluctuate dramatically from one quarter to another. For example The Bee in Lancashire is up 115% whilst Gold North West and Wales is down 61%. This information is crucial from a campaign planning point of view. It takes two weeks for the new RAJAR data to be fed into planning systems, so now is the time for us to scrutinise those numbers.
Spots for stations that have gained hours will be worth more in a couple of weeks – book now before the update. If you can, hold off on booking with a station that has dropped hours and get better value from your spots in a fortnight’s time. Either way, we’ll ensure you’re getting the best costs for your campaign and reach the people you need at the right time and place.
